Pay for a domain with Monero (XMR) — full walkthrough

XMR-specific flow: which wallet, how many confirmations, what to expect on bunker after sending.

Monero is the only cryptocurrency that hides sender, receiver, and amount by default—which is why we accept it.

TL;DR Pay your bunkerdomains invoice with XMR in under 15 minutes. Pick a wallet, send the exact amount to the OxaPay address, wait for 10–12 confirmations, domain appears in your panel.

Pick a wallet

You need a Monero wallet that lets you control the transaction fee and doesn't round amounts. Three work well:

WalletPlatformNotes
Monero GUIWindows, macOS, LinuxOfficial. Runs a full node or connects remote. Slow first sync.
FeatherWindows, macOS, LinuxLightweight. Connects to remote nodes instantly. Clean UI.
Cake WalletiOS, AndroidMobile. Built-in exchange. Fast setup.

Download from official sites only. Monero GUI and Feather let you verify signatures—do it if you're syncing more than pocket change.

Find your invoice

After you complete domain selection at bunkerdomains, you hit the payment step. The invoice page lists several crypto options. Click Monero (XMR).

OxaPay generates a unique deposit address and the exact amount in XMR—looks like 0.042069 XMR. That figure includes our service fee and the processor's cut. It's final.

The page shows:

  • XMR address (long string starting with 4 or 8)
  • Exact amount in XMR
  • Timer (usually 60 minutes)
  • QR code for mobile wallets

Leave this tab open. You'll check it for confirmation status.

Send the exact amount

Open your wallet. Go to the Send tab.

Paste the address

Copy the XMR address from the invoice page. Paste into the recipient field. Triple-check the first six and last six characters—malware exists that swaps clipboard addresses.

Enter the amount

Type the exact XMR figure from the invoice. Do not round. Do not add extra decimal places. 0.042069 means 0.042069, not 0.042 or 0.04207.

Set priority

Monero fees are tiny (currently ~0.00001 XMR). Default priority works. If you pick "low," confirmation takes longer but saves nothing meaningful.

Review and send

Most wallets show a confirmation screen with:

  • Destination address
  • Amount
  • Fee
  • Total deducted from your balance

Confirm the address matches. Click Send. Enter your wallet password if prompted.

The wallet broadcasts the transaction to the network. You'll see a transaction ID (TxID)—a 64-character hex string. Copy it. You won't need it unless something breaks, but keep it.

Wait for confirmations

Monero transactions need 10 confirmations before OxaPay releases funds to us. Each confirmation is one block mined on the Monero chain. Blocks come every ~2 minutes.

Expected timeline:

  • First confirmation: 2–4 minutes
  • Ten confirmations: 20–25 minutes
  • Twelve confirmations (our threshold): ~24–28 minutes

The invoice page updates in real time. You'll see:

  1. "Payment detected" (transaction in mempool)
  2. "Confirming… X/10" (blocks accruing)
  3. "Confirmed" (OxaPay released funds)
  4. Redirect to bunkerdomains dashboard (domain active)

If the page doesn't auto-update, refresh manually. Browser extensions that block trackers sometimes break the WebSocket.

What bunker shows during pending

While confirmations roll in, your bunkerdomains dashboard shows the domain in "Payment Pending" status. WHOIS is not live. DNS panel is locked. This is normal.

Once OxaPay confirms, we provision instantly:

  • Domain moves to Active
  • DNS panel unlocks
  • WHOIS privacy applies (always free, always on)
  • Nameservers default to ns1.bunkerdomains.com and ns2.bunkerdomains.com unless you specified custom NS during checkout

No email confirmation. No ticket. The dashboard updating is your receipt.

If something breaks

Transaction doesn't appear after 5 minutes:

  • Check the TxID in a Monero block explorer (xmrchain.net, localmonero.co/blocks)
  • Confirm it's broadcast and not stuck in your wallet's queue
  • Verify you sent to the correct address

Confirmations stalled at 8/10 for 20+ minutes:

  • Monero's difficulty adjustment occasionally causes slow blocks
  • Wait another cycle
  • The invoice timer pauses once payment is detected

Amount mismatch error:

  • You rounded or fat-fingered the amount
  • Open a ticket with the TxID, invoice ID, and wallet address you sent from
  • We manually reconcile, but it adds 12–24 hours

Invoice expired before you sent:

  • Payment still arrives at the OxaPay address, but processing is manual
  • Ticket required; expect delay

We don't auto-refund. If you sent wrong amount or wrong coin, ticket with evidence and wait.

Done

Your domain is live the moment confirmations clear—no KYC, no email verify, no bank holding period. That's the point of paying with Monero.
